To celebrate its 5th anniversary, Sailor introduced a limited edition collection called Manyo Ink in Love. The Manyo line is rooted in Many?sh?, the ancient Japanese anthology of poems. Many of the selected love poems include vivid imagery of nature — Sailor translated those natural metaphors into ink colors. For the anniversary edition, they chose five color names tied to poetic imagery of longing and nature. Yu (?), meaning “evening / sunset,” is one of those five special shades. 

The poetic prompt behind Yu:

“As evening falls, I gaze at the clouds, lost in contemplation. Thinking of my lover, who is like the unreachable sky, far beyond my reach.” 

Thus, Yu is intended to evoke that twilight moment — capturing warmth, depth, and reflection in color.
