• Ink flow & control: As a Fine nib, it gives more precise strokes and consumes ink more conservatively compared to stub or italic nibs.

• Frequent dipping: Because it’s a dip system (unless using a reservoir), you’ll need to redip periodically, especially for long writing.

• Swapping nibs: The resin section is removable — you can pull it out and insert a different nib unit (e.g. Medium, Calligraphy, Fude) into your Hocoro barrel.

• Slight movement / “play”: Some users have noted a small amount of wiggle or movement between the nib unit and barrel, which can affect extremely fine exit strokes or precise drawing lines. 

• Durability: As with any steel nib, avoid pressing too hard. Using abrasive paper or rough surfaces may prematurely wear the tip.

• Cleaning between inks: Rinse under water and dry thoroughly before switching inks. Because the nib unit is removed from the barrel, cleaning is easier than on a closed system.
